Who

Who Is the Congress For?

All Catholics in the diocese; families; young adults; those wanting to deepen their faith; clergy and religious

The Congress is for you. If you are a Catholic in the Diocese of East Anglia and you want to grow in your faith, this week is for you.

You do not need to be a theologian. You do not need to be particularly devout. You do not need to have it all figured out. You need to be willing to show up and open yourself to what God might do.

If you are a parishioner who comes to Mass each Sunday but wants something more, come. If you are someone whose faith has grown quiet and you are looking for a way back, come. If you are on fire for the Eucharist and want to be with others who share that love, come.

The Congress is for families. There will be space for children and activities that help young people engage with the faith in a real way. You do not need to leave your family behind to take part.

It is for young adults who are asking serious questions about what the Church asks of them and why the Eucharist is at the heart of it.

It is for the elderly and those who have been faithful for decades — your witness matters, and the Congress is strengthened by your presence.

It is for clergy and religious who carry the weight of parish life and who need their own time of renewal before the Lord.

If you are not sure whether it is for you, it is for you.

Who

Who is behind the Eucharistic Congress

three parish priests, deanery, diocese, and both bishops

The Congress is led by three parish priests working together. Fr Luke from St Mark’s and St Mary Magdalen’s, Fr Joseph from St Pancras, and Fr Jude from St Mary’s share responsibility for the vision, planning, and prayer that shape the week. Each brings experience from parish life in Ipswich. Each plays an equal role in guiding the Congress.

The Ipswich Deanery supports their work. Clergy from across the town meet to review plans and help coordinate the practical details. Lay leaders contribute to hospitality, music, communications, and logistics. You see people from every parish offering their time so the event runs well.

The Diocese of East Anglia provides oversight and guidance. Diocesan teams advise on liturgy, safeguarding, and other requirements. The Bishop supports the aim of helping people grow in faith through the Eucharist.

The Congress reflects shared leadership. Parishes work together. Clergy and lay people contribute in clear and practical ways. You take part in an event rooted in the life of the Church in Ipswich and shaped by cooperation across the diocese.

Support the Congress

Help make this possible

Your gift helps make the Ipswich Eucharistic Congress possible. Donations support the real costs of the week — venue hire, liturgy and music, speakers, materials, hospitality, and practical needs across every day of the Congress.

This is a shared work of four Ipswich parishes. Every contribution, whether large or small, helps to keep the Congress open and accessible to all.

Thank you for helping to centre this Congress on Jesus in the Eucharist.
